When we lived in South Florida we took advantage of being near the Miami port and booked a last minute cruise. It was just a simple 3 day cruise to the Bahamas. We got there in the afternoon to enjoy the views (and the lunch buffet!)
This was my second Royal Caribbean cruise – the first being a family trip to Bermuda when I was in high school. During that trip, the entire staff were really attentive and went out of their way to help you. On this trip, they could have cared less! My theory is we were two young adults while on my first cruise it was a set of 6 adults and 3 teens. They knew where the trips were coming from!
After our first night on board we awoke at Royal Caribbeans private Island – CocoCay.
It was a nice spacious island that never felt too crowded. You could snorkel, dine, drink, or just lazily float. Not a bad way to spend your day.
We spent the entire day there and by 5pm we were back on the ship enjoying a belly flop contest!
On our last day, we docked in Nassau.
Unfortunately, it was a Sunday and most of the shops were closed! We opted to do a snorkeling excursion instead.
Others opted to just hang out on Paradise Island which didn’t seem like such a bad idea either. Although, rumor has it the food and drinks are very expensive.
This was the last cruise I took although I feel the desire to take another creeping in… They are a great value given the all-inclusive food and your “hotel” is the ship. There are so many deals out there that it’s hard to pass up!
