Port Orchard, Washington

After spending a day in Seattle, my husband and I boarded a ferry to Port Orchard. My favorite author, Debbie Macomber, based her Cedar Cove series on her hometown. It’s actually filmed in British Columbia but all of the main points of interest in the series are from Port Orchard.

To get there from Seattle, you board the Bemerton Ferry from Pier 52. It takes 60 minutes to get to Bremerton but it provides beautiful views of Puget Sound.

This is actually owned by by Debbie’s daughter!IMG_3411Quick tip, if you arrive from the ferry, get on the #8 bus. It drops you off near the tea room. We learned about it AFTER we walked the 1.2 miles from town! It’s not a bad walk though. We arrived and were immediately seated. I ordered a soup and scone and my husband ordered the crab sandwich.

Be sure to try the house Peach and Strawberry Tea!
