As mentioned in my previous posts, my husband and I visited Colorado in November 2012 for the Thanksgiving holiday. After a day/night in Golden, we spent the night in Breckenridge. Click the links to read about those adventures.
Side story: I am amazed at how physically active everyone is out in Colorado! Besides the typical skiing/snowboarding/cross country skiing, everyone loves to bike and hike! My friend kept asking me if I wanted to go on a hike!! Um, no…I don’t haha. I want to eat, drink and shop! That’s why I came out for a visit. Had there been more snow on the ground I probably would have skied. However, I would also be taking refuge in the lodge around a fire as well.
After our night out in Breckenridge, it was time to head to Boulder. The drive took a little under 2 hours and like all the other drives we took, was very scenic.
Once we arrived, we checked into our hotel – Quality Inn, Boulder. I know what you are thinking…a Quality Inn? Trust me, this is no ordinary Inn!
The hotel was very clean and in walking distance to Pearl Street. I would highly recommend staying here. The room was spacious and the front desk staff were great. The complimentary hot breakfast was a nice touch as well.
One of the main areas in Boulder is Pearl Street. I loved the shopping and restaurants here. They had very cute furniture and clothing boutiques as well as high-end and moderately priced art galleries. I highly recommend a stop if you have time.
This is Pearl Street by Day:And by night…
If you ever get the opportunity to visit Colorado, I highly recommend Golden/Denver, Breckenridge and Boulder. Out of the three, Boulder was by far my favorite. It had a great vibe to it and seemed like a walkable town (in certain areas of course). Next visit, I want to go when it’s snowing like crazy!
